I like the diverse and challenging patient population we serve. The pharmacist is an integral part of the healthcare team. There is a tremendous collaboration with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals in providing patient care. The Nebraska Medical Center also offers me the opportunities to pursue other aspects of pharmacy practice. For me, it is teaching. I like precepting and working with pharmacy and medical students as well as residents.

As a clinical pharmacist at The Nebraska Medical Center, I enjoy the interactions I have with other healthcare professionals. The physicians and nurses realize the impact pharmacists can have on patient care and we are routinely consulted regarding drug therapy issues. I am also fortunate to have the opportunity to precept pharmacy students and challenge them to think critically while contributing to the practice of pharmaceutical care.
